Service
ChowAPI provides a REST API for food and nutrition data. By using the API, you agree to these terms.
API usage
You may use the API for any lawful purpose. You agree not to abuse rate limits, attempt to circumvent authentication, or use the API in a way that degrades service for other users.
Billing
Credit packs are one-time purchases valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. Pay-as-you-go subscriptions are billed monthly at the stated per-call rate. Prices may change with 30 days notice.
Data accuracy
Food nutrition data is sourced from multiple databases including government and community-contributed sources. While we strive for accuracy, nutrition data may contain errors or be incomplete. ChowAPI provides data quality scores to help you assess reliability. The API should not be used as the sole basis for medical or dietary decisions.
Open Food Facts attribution
ChowAPI includes data from Open Food Facts, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). If you redistribute ChowAPI data that originates from Open Food Facts, you must comply with the ODbL attribution requirements.
Availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee it. We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice. We are not liable for losses caused by API downtime.
